Our visitors consistently praise the tranquility of our wide-open valley, the historic mission buildings, and the ancient trees that shade our expansive lawns. While Ghaub offers the perfect setting for relaxation, it is also a place of adventure, where you can experience Namibia’s wildlife and natural beauty up close.

Activities Available for Day Visitors
Rhino Drive (Afternoons, 2–3 hours). Explore the African bush savannah in the Otavi Mountains on a guided rhino drive. Our nature reserve offers a stunning contrast to the Etosha landscape, featuring diverse wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, eland, impala, and red hartebeest. The highlight? A close-up encounter with our majestic white rhinos!
Rhino Tracking (Mornings, 2–3 hours). For a more immersive experience, join our “Rhino Patrol” on foot as we track white rhinos in their natural habitat. Learn fascinating details about their behavior, and with a bit of luck, you’ll meet them face to face. Please note: This activity requires a reasonable level of fitness.
Cave Excursion (Max. 6 persons, mornings, 2–3 hours). Ready for an underground adventure? Our limestone cave, the third-largest in Namibia, stretches for 2.5 km. This physically demanding experience involves crawling and climbing through tight spaces and is not suitable for those with claustrophobia. Helmets and headlamps are provided, but sturdy clothing and shoes are a must!

Please note that day visits are exclusively for guests who actively participate in one of our activities. To ensure the peace and privacy of our overnight guests, access to the lodge, campsite, and hiking trails remains reserved for those staying overnight.
